4- Mount Royal
Mount Royal is a large hill in the city, immediately west of downtown Montreal. It is part of the magnificent Mount Royal Park, and an ideal site for admiring a wide variety of plants and birds or for enjoying outdoor activities.
Hike or cycle up the winding path to the top if the hill for some breath-taking views of the city. Other attractions on Mount Royal include the Smith House, a heritage house where you can learn about the mountain and Beaver Lake featuring a playground and ice skating in winter.
3- Notre-Dame Basilica
The Notre-Dame Basilica towers high over the cobblestone streets of Montreal and is located in the historic district of Old Montreal. The city’s most splendid Catholic church was built over the years 1824 to 1829, to serve as a parish church.
It is one of the oldest examples of Gothic Revival religious architecture in Canada and is known for its intricately designed interior, which includes stained glass chronicling the history of the city.
